Why interview scheduling matters (and why winging it hurts)
Interviews aren’t meetings; they’re deadlines with humans attached. One missed email, one double‑booked slot, one “who has the Zoom?” and boom—your top candidate is evaluating a competitor. Scheduling is where momentum lives or dies. Get it right and your pipeline feels like a conveyor belt. Get it wrong and it’s a traffic jam with calendar invites.
- Candidate experience: quick, clear scheduling screams competence. Ghosting doesn’t.
- Team efficiency: shared visibility means fewer pings and fewer “are we on?” moments.
- Quality of signal: when interviews start on time and end on time, feedback is better.
- Offer velocity: fewer reschedules = fewer delays = fewer lost candidates.
TL;DR: Scheduling isn’t “admin.” It’s throughput. Treat it like infra, not chores.
